Attention WV811 Members and Excavators:
WV811 is phasing out the use and acceptances of incoming locate requests received via fax at the end of the first quarter in 2013.
Beginning January 15, 2013, all locate requests faxed to West Virginia 811 must be submitted on the official WV811 Fax-A-Locate form. Fax locate requests submitted on any other form will not be processed and will be returned to the submitter. The official WV811 Fax-A-Locate form is attached and is also available on www.wv811.com.
On April 1, 2013 fax locate requests will no longer be accepted and the fax number will be disabled.
With the ability to fax your request no longer available a great alternative is to submit using GeoRemote or E-Ticket. GeoRemote allows you to complete your request online in its entirety and receive your confirmation number immediately. A short training is required for the mapping portion. A second alternative is E-Ticket where you can submit a locate request online and receive a ticket number by email within 2 hours.
